camping with trick or treating

We went to Prides Creek this past weekend to go camping. Every weekend in October at the campgrounds they have trick or treating for the kiddos to participate. It was a lot of fun! I made their costumes (with the help of mamaw of course). They were Woody, Jessie, and Bullseye from Toy Story. They loved it!!! They had so much fun! Grandma got them their boots which added so much to the costume.

Tuttles Orchard

We went to Tuttles Orchard a few times this September due to my canning addictions. I love it because I do pretty much nothing. The kids pull the wagons and pick the apples. I try and take pictures. The only bad thing is that they each want their own bag...and I think while I'm there, fill er up! So needless to say, I've been making a bunch of apple butter, apple sauce, and apple pies. I love fall!!! I love that they love to go to the orchard. One day it was nice. The other day we went it was chilly. Good ol' Indiana weather! We all had a great time!

birthday

Yesterday was Lillian and Nathan's 4th birthday. I remember being pregnant with all 3 kids and I loved every minute of it. I still remember the day Dr. Jarrett said as he was looking at the ultrasound, " there's a heart....and there's another heart." We were both so excited! Twins!!! Things went really well during the pregnancy...until one day I went to work. I came out of the bathroom and my co-workers just knew from the look on my face something wasn't right. I called the doctor right away. She told me to go to the hospital. From then on I was on complete bedrest at 30 weeks. I was having contractions every minute. After they got my contractions under control I was able to go home...but on complete bedrest. Luckily they "cooked" inside me for 7 more weeks! It was so exciting to hear them cry for the first time. I know I'm being biased but they are the best kids anyone can ask for! We are truly blessed to have such wonderful kids.
And how can I leave out little Rose. Being pregnant with her was so easy..except taking care of two little ones and being pregnant. She decided on her own birthday as well. She was supposed to come out on January 11th but thought the 9th would be better. In the middle of the night I woke up with contractions every 3 minutes. Called the doctor and she said to come in to the hospital. It was 2:30 when we got there. (My parents came over to stay with the twins) They hooked me up to the monitor. After being there for about an hour, I asked what the plan was. I told the nurses I needed to call into work and let them know if I wasn't going to be there. The nurses looked at me funny and said, "Honey, you are going to have this baby within the next couple of hours." I thought holy cow! When the doctor pulled the baby out and said it's a girl I was so excited!!! I always wanted to name her Rose.
Being a mom definitely changes you. I love all my kids so much. I love my husband so much because we are truly blessed for the three wonderful kids we have.

family Christmas

My three attempts for a family photo. Not bad with three little ones. The first one would have been perfect if the lighting would have been right. The second one I forgot to tell them to look at the camera. So the third one was the best one. We were on our way out the door for church and saw that it was another perfect yet a little chilly day outside so I took advantage of a family picture!

fall/winter 2009

I know I know...it's been a long time since a post. Here are some Christmas pictures we took for our Christmas cards. It was such a beautiful fall day I couldn't resist.

thinking Halloween

I asked the kids what they wanted to be for Halloween. Needless to say this was after the fact that I went to Once Upon a Child to find their costumes. I honestly didn't think they would care. They are only 3 and I wasn't sure if they really knew that when we mentioned Halloween they would actually remember that is the holiday that we dress up and get candy. Anyway, Nathan wants to be a spider. I guess that shouldn't be too hard to make. Lillian said she wanted to be Harmony. I thought this was funny. Harmony is a little girl at church who they adore. They think she is absolutely hilarious! This weekend, we are going to a campsite where they do their own little trick or treating. Needless to say, Nathan is going to be Thomas and blow his whistle. Lillian says she is going to be Harmony but in reality she is in a Tinkerbell dress. It works. Tinkerbell and Harmony are both blond. Rose will be either a mini Tinkerbell or an M&M. Should be fun and hopefully I will have many pictures to blog soon!

umbrellas

Lillian and Nathan found our umbrella. Needless to say, it keeps them entertained for a while. It is really cute to hear them playing because they don't say it's an umbrella. They call it a rainbrella. Now, I think this new word makes more sense than umbrella. What is an "um" anyway? I'm not sure if I know the reason for calling it an umbrella and if I try to explain it to a 3 year old I'll probably convince myself that it should be called a rainbrella.
